SKTOUA: A Syllabus With Taste and Style When Writing

CLICK into succinct reasoning for this study course: Veteran food critic Craig LaBan drew a line in the blogger's unstable sand box when he keyboarded a column on writing about food in an online world.

"We have to fight against promotionalism; there are a lot of people eating free food and writing a review and saying 'I'm a blogger!' That kind of knee-jerk criticism has numbed people to the power of the critical word, and they don't think about the impact of the negative things they write."

Read about it on Poynter.org

Now, if we have your attention, there are eight levels of 12-pack starter kits, all varied, a suggested shortcut to an interesting career, one not being presented by any university or culinary school. Should your search for all suggested reads be successful, you will have plowed through 96 books. You will have touched base with all aspects of food, food history and the public trough for humankind.

Since there is no certificated or sanctioned college-level course teaching and training restaurant reviewers, here's my career library. This is not a lending library.

Beyond the stacked Starter Kit Dozen, there are 84 guides, related books, biographies and fun food reads. My descriptives of food/restaurant books appealing to me in order of suggested reading to complete your studies.
